EOS Airlines
EOS Airlines the Premium Class only carrier operating from Stansted to New York flew it’s final flight yesterday (Sunday 27th April) and has filed for bankruptcy as the economic maelstrom sweeping the financial markets takes its toll.
Eos - the business class-only airline that had previously seen off competitor Maxjet - was a surprising addition to the rising toll of failed airlines as its business model was viewed as relatively robust - particularly as it went bust with a fairly small debt.
Silverjet remains the only premium only carrier with its two services daily from Luton to New York and daily service to Dubai.
Lufthansa
Lufthansa is further expanding its services to key Indian cities for business and leisure travellers alike with a 7th destination. From 1 July 2008, LH will launch a new route from Frankfurt to Pune in Western India.
The 6 times a week flight will be operated by an Airbus A319 which has been refitted as a Business Jet . The service will be all Business class with 48 modern lie-flat seats that fully recline to almost two metres in length.

Travelodge
Travelodge has finalised a deal to buy six hotels from the Menzies Group. The six leasehold hotels are in Edinburgh, Bath, Newcastle, Coventry, Oldham and Stevenage.
